The Isabella Experience, inspired by the traditions and values of the Moricciani Family and Isabella’s vision, has elevated our family operation to embrace all our family activities. For 35 years, we have welcomed guests to our farmhouse, Cretaiole, creating a place where guests can feel truly at home while experiencing the magic of Tuscany. Though our family, properties, and dedicated hospitality team have grown, our commitment remains the same. From your first email inquiry to the warm welcome upon arrival, we want you to feel our genuine care and enthusiasm. Our Family

Isabella

Isabella was a big-city girl from Milan when she came as a guest to Agriturismo Cretaiole many years ago and fell in love with Carlo and the Val d’Orcia. She traded her city life and business clothes for what she calls the “real” dolce vita. Isa has traveled the world, speaks four languages, and enjoys meeting people from different cultures. She focuses on making sure her guests have an amazing and unforgettable experience. Her love for her work is still strong, and she is always looking for new adventures for her guests. At La Moscadella, she and her team take great care of guests from Castelmuzio, making sure every stay is special.

Niccolò & Leonie

Niccolò, the passionate 25-year-old son of Isabella and Carlo, brings fresh ideas and dynamic energy to The Isabella Experience. A vital part of our family operation, Niccolò graduated with highest honors in International Hospitality Management from Les Roches, Switzerland, in 2022. During a transformative internship in Qatar, he met his girlfriend, Leonie, and together they co-founded the successful hospitality brand “Toscana a Due”. Their goal is to elevate hospitality in Val d’Orcia, blending international expertise with Tuscan charm. Niccolò curates unforgettable activities and experiences across all our properties, ensuring every guest departs with cherished memories.

Carlo

Carlo is a man of the earth, with a personality as warm as the Tuscan sun. His deep passion for the land and agriculture drives him to work tirelessly at the farmhouse Cretaiole, producing the finest Orcia DOC wine and olive oil. As an official olive oil tester in Siena, Carlo serves on a panel that evaluates and certifies the quality of the region’s olive oil. With a background in agriculture from his studies in Siena, he is constantly learning new methods to improve his wine, prune his olive trees, and grow organically. Carlo’s love for the land extends to his daily walks through the countryside, and perhaps you’ll have the chance to join him on one of these peaceful strolls during your stay!

Luciano

Luciano, born in 1940, is a true visionary. In the late 1980s, he founded the first agriturismo in Pienza, Cretaiole. With deep roots in farming, Luciano’s connection to the land is almost instinctual. He takes great pleasure in tending the garden, raising farm animals, and sharing the farm with our guests. Luciano is truly one-of-a-kind—passionate, sweet, and charming. He always strives to make everyone happy. He loves to be with people and delights in sharing his homemade grappa and vin santo with guests staying at Cretaiole.
