Art and Artisan Tour

PIENZA

Discover Pienza with our favorite local guide

DESCRIPTION

Among the gentle hills of the Val d’Orcia, you’ll find Pienza, a small Renaissance village that stands out against the valley with its imposing cathedral, creating a breathtaking panorama. Pienza was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, for being the ideal Renaissance city designed to be at human scale, which inspired many other Italian and foreign cities throughout time. While strolling with a local professional born and raised in Pienza, you will discover the history of this enchanting village and how man and nature live here in harmony. This tour is a unique opportunity to explore Pienza through the narratives of the locals that you will meet during the tour. Not only will you see the most important monuments —the Cathedral, Palazzo Piccolomini, the Church of San Francesco, — but you will also have exclusive access to craft shops such as a lovely ceramic store and the wrought-iron workshop. Your guide will show you the curiosities and aspects that make Pienza a unique city in the world, through art, craftsmanship, and excellent gastronomy.
